The farmhouse has lofty rooms, flagstone floors, 2 woodburners, comfortable furnishings in the traditional style and CH. It has its own grounds, fields on 3 sides and shared use of a swimming pool.
In the grounds, there is a large barn with indoor space (table tennis, darts etc), and a garden with outside eating space, BBQ, grape vines and swimming pool (shared with Chez Michel). There is a shared utility room with 2 washers and a drier.
Glass doors open into a huge kitchen with woodburner and easy chairs, as well as cooking area and dining area. Next to the kitchen is an equally spacious lounge with a second woodburner, 2 large leather sofas, chairs, TV etc. The ground floor also has a generous double room plus additional child’s bed, with access via French windows to a secluded side garden. There is also a “spare room” with sofa bed and a bathroom with roll top bath and shower attachment. Upstairs are 2 spectacular bedrooms with beams and stone chimney-breast. One is a double with additional child’s bed and en suite shower room, the other a twin.

The property is ideal for families or parties of people enjoying the walks, cycle rides and sporting attractions in the area. Or maye you like photography, painting or bird-watching in the superb rural landcape. There is a converted barn in the grounds (see Chez Michel) which sleeps 8, so book both and bring the in-laws, cousins and friends too!
Le Bouex lies in the heart of the French countryside, 40 miles east of Poitiers, and within easy reach of the Loire region and the Brenne national park. It has farmland, rivers, woods and quaint ancient villages, but is also accessible to historic cities like Chartres and Limoges. Go on day trips to the coast at La Rochelle, or just wander through the countryside, enjoying the slower pace of life and stopping off to eat (and drink!) in the village auberges. There is plenty of entertainment for the family - Snake Island, the eagles at Chauvigny, the Ostrich Farm at Vaux, Futurascope at Poitiers. Also swimming, riding, boating, golf, climbing.
Open all year. Pruces vary from 500 euros to 850 euros in peak season.
All prices are for the whole property per week. Bedding, towels and heating are extra. A 200 euro damages deposit is charged (refundable when you leave).

Fly to Poitiers airport (cheap Ryan air flights) and pick up a car, or cross to Le Havre by ferry and drive south through Le Mans and Tours (approx 4.5 hours). Alternatively, take Eurostar to Poitiers - approx 7.5 hours with one hour stopover in Paris.
